Equality I think i'm not the only Singaporean right here in this small dot who's angry with the way of how our own people are acting. I was going around Toa Payoh (yes i went to have the LA MIAN i've been craving for all week) and this guy was like,"WA LAU, WALK FASTER LA." True, i was among the crowd and he was there in front of me with his girlfriend i assume. The mall was crowded with people like hell. Why? PROJECT SUPERSTAR la. I came close to a group actually. :D One with quite a few malay guys (eh, quite shuai leh xD) I think WenZhuang would be jealous. Muahaha, joking. So, it was damned crowded la. Even worse than a fish market i presume. Sure enough, there were people actually strolling around the mall which was quite frustrating. I understand that you would want to have a look at something, but at least move to the side where you wouldn't create what we call a road block. I know maybe it's a small matter but for me, it's pretty obvious that you had to move quick right? GAAAH. Another thing about us locals are problem those people who work as cashiers or salesman/woman or things that has to do with sales. Taking you to Orchard, where most foreigners hang out. Where all the branded goods are sold, where people with somewhat class go there to shop or just hang out. If you notice, most salespersons would approach these foreigners with blonde hair, charming blue eyes or whatsoever that separates them from us, with so so so polite gestures but when they see US (locals doh), they tend to treat you like an Ah Pek at the kopitiam. I don't know, but i see these around A LOT. And i have so many tales to tell. Seriously, what really separates them (ang mohs) from us Asians in terms of blah blah blah. I used to think being an Asian was so "uncool", but when i think about how special we are, i tend to regret what i have said once before. We, Asians have far more traditions and cultures in our background and till today, we're still living on it. Let's see, we have Hari Raya, Chinese New Year, Vesak Day, Deepavali, Christmas, and so many more. Forget the large Christmas tree that's in New York when it's snowing and nearing Christmas. I think we as Asians are an exeptionally special group of people. Forget boxing day that they have over there, when we have our multi-cultural occasions here. So, i guess we have a draw right? But i still think we're far special than them. So, why the different approach? Why the different gestures and all when we're all the same in fact? Maybe it's something all of us have to ponder on, maybe it's something the world has to think about, of pride and status. I believe, and forever will believe, that all of us are equal and that opinions should be heard from all and thus end with a proper decision to any problem. ______________________________________________ My family had a "family gathering" at my grandmum's place yesterday. A prayer and dinner session like always. I always look forward to these sessions cos' i believe it brings us even closer together even though we're much inseparable right now. I was extremely excited to meet my cousins of course! We had tons of fun and well, a lot of laughs! PS: IQAH, i still remember the sound :D Also, it was defnitely good to see all my aunts again. And it was my aunt's birthday yesterday! So my grandpa sang her a birthday song before we left for home. So sweet. I miss my grandpa already. I really wished i had more time with him like i did before. My current schdule is just too tight and that's the sad thing. My cousins and i actually planned a date to find my school supplies. Probably getting a new school bag cos' it's all stained with the paint and i think it's fungus of something that's growing on it. =.= BOOOO. PS: IVY! Was this the old code you wanted? :D , osn. previous next |
