Trip to Indo Part 2 I shall continue where i left off... HEH. Read Part 1 if you haven't! ![]() Day 2 (continued), Thursday 11th June 2009 After the adventurous experience in the zoo, we proceeded to Puncak. The weather there was just the way we all liked it (though our tour guides couldn't stand the coldness and put on their sweaters already). Very chilly and fresh! Before dinner, we went to take our prayers at the mosque atop the mountain. It was B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L! To enter the mosque, we had to take off our shoes (as usual) and take a stroll up where we had water to wash our feet. And you should know that if the weather is cold, expect the water to be ICY. However, it felt so refreshing! Although i was freezing after i took my ablution for prayer, it felt very nice. I told many of my friends that i'd rather be freezing than sweating, heh! ![]()
After prayer, we went to have dinner after travelling uphill for another 15 minutes. Our guides then brought us to the place we would stay the night. Wasn't a very nice place though there were adequate facilities. It had the old-house smell... HAHA. And it was so dark out at night so we closed all the curtains and locked the doors. I don't know the real reason, no one in my family said anything (: But i guess we were all slightly petrified by the darkness and the fact that we felt like the only patrons there. >< Day 3, 12th June 2009 We woke up early - of course because my parents were bugging us to wake up early... HAHA. "At home, sleep until 12 o'clock. Go on holiday also want to sleep until so late. Like that rather stay at home right?" So we decided, yeah correct... My parents have such powerful words. LOL. So we went to have breakfast and tried to wander outside the motel before we headed back in because we were extremely unfamiliar with the roads (duh, we're not locals..) and there were no walkways like in Singapore. But not before camwhoring a bit, of course ^^ PPS: My brother koped the camera from me that morning.. Hahaha ![]()
After that, we travelled to Bandung and stopped to have lunch at a restaurant. Very cool though we didn't have a good impression when we first stepped in. (A pond with no water and dead fresh fish...). Wasn't an appetising lunch because it wasn't up to our liking :/ ![]()
Anyhow, took our prayers at the restaurant before shopping! The place felt like Geylang because the roads were so busy and there were so many shops to go to. Some very interesting decors as well! ![]()
Bought a couple of clothes but nothing much (not our style.. again). We then proceeded to the store with lots of jeans~ In total, my family bought about 5 pairs of jeans (for ourselves and my cousin) and i got a jacket from there. Spent hours in the shop! They had LeeCooper, Levis, Kickers and others. Practically, everything they had there was denim and jeans. Furthermore, they cost 5 times (or more) cheaper than in Singapore. ![]()
Shopped more at other places. And at one place, i was tempted to buy all the bread they had in the bakery >< We then proceeded to our motel upon reaching Bandung. My family voted that it was the best night we spent throughout our trip. Sorry Batavia (famous 3 or 4-star hotel in Jakarta), this one in Bandung was the better one. HEHE. It was like a 5-star restaurant! Comfy beds, good air-conditioning, new curtains, clean toilet, hot water! Rested for the night from all the shopping the whole day XD Even though i didn't feel at all hungry, i ate the sandwiches we bought from the bakery and LOVED it. I never liked sandwiches but after eating that one, i started to have a liking for them again~ (That's why if you realised, there was one week i ate tuna sandwich for 3 whole days) Day 4, 13th June 2009 Woke up early to have breakfast when we realised there was a farm right outside the motel. We could hear goats and cows. It was honestly, very refreshing to hear them. Made me feel like staying... In the farm/countryside. No need to study or worry about anything. LOL. But not all is bad on this side anyway! ;) Anyway, want to see how GREAT the place is?!!! *excited* ![]()
After breakfast, we were brought to Tangkuban Parahu. The journey up there was spectacular. Fresh air, the breeze was lovely and all you can hear is the sound of nature. It was really nice. My parents said we came here when we were 1 or 2 years old (for me) and after so many years, we're back at the same place again. The other time, we came as a whole family (relatives and cousins included) but this time, it's just us (: ![]()
Did more shopping~ Heh. ![]()
After all the shopping, we left out goodies at the car and went on a 'tour' in the woods. 6 kilometres down and another 6 kilometres up... TIRING. But we didn't sweat at all because of the humidity level. Fresh air too, cannot complain! Lucky us, it started to rain when we were only a few metres from the shelter... But it was unfortunate because we couldn't go soak our feet in the sulphur puddles (that was the pain purpose of hiking down... ) because of the rain. Tiring, soaked, drenched but kindda okay. I love hiking~ But next time, we should all prepare sport shoes. LOL ![]()
After the long and tiring activity (it took us approximately 3 hours), we went to the Hot Springs. FIRST TIME THERE! I was so glad to be there! After being drenched and cold, the Hot Springs was the perfect place to be. It was VERY VERY VERY HOT but i loved it! We then travelled to the last destination in Bandung, the strawberry farm, before enduring a 6-hour drive back to Jakarta. ![]()
Those were the last pictures of my trip because my camera malfunctioned slightly so i didn't have the mood to take pictures afterwhich.... But everything's fine now so YAY! HAHAHA. Day 5, 14th June 2009 We reached Jakarta the night before at around 8 or 9pm and had dinner before recuperating at Batavia Hotel again. Took the night off to rest and pack our goodies. In the morning, we only had one guide with us and he brought drove us to 2 malls. One of which we ate A&W - FINALLY! My brother and me were beaming with joy~. We then went on to a more classy mall and shopped a bit more. Got very good buys. Things in Indonesia are so cheap :/ Same quality, much cheaper price. That's why i managed to get Maira's fedora hat there too~ Damn happy when i found one - she wanted one for her birthday and got it! At around 7pm, we bid goodbye to our guide and waited at the airport for about 2 hours before boarding the plane. Watched InkHeart but didn't manage to finish the movie ): I didn't feel nauseous this time around too so, good! We took a cab back home and i started to return smses, hahahaha. Joey called me at around 1.30am (we landed at 1, if i remembered correctly) to wish me a belated birthday so it felt like a welcome back home. Slept at around 3am and woke up at 8 for a meeting that morning. But anyway, that was my trip to Indonesia with my family in June! :DDDDD I enjoyed it a lot and hopefully we'll have the rezeki (uhhh, i'll find out the translation soon. HAHAHA) to have another holiday together, insyaAllah! ^^ Exciting day tomorrow! Going to JB as a family together with my cousins (who live at the next block of flats, cool right?) and their family. Can't wait! GOODNIGHT! Happy 44th Birthday, Singapore! No matter what, i still love my country. |
