Passion Arts STARS 2009 @ RP 27th February 2009 - Happy 26th Anniversary to my parents. May Allah bless them for bringing my brother and me up to who we are now, for keeping us in their prayers without fail and for everything that they have sacrificed (that we don't realise) for us. May Allah watch over us all and lead us to the Garden of Paradise, insyaAllah (: I woke up late yesterday, finally. After bathing and all, rushed down to NTUC and Cold Storage to get the materials for baking. Found great recipes online on livejournal. So... i got home and got down to work. Things went well, managed to bake 29 pieces (: But the icing didn't work out ): So i ended up leaving the cupcakes at home and not giving them to my loves. So sorry! But i was really upset because it didn't turn out the way i wanted. Oh well, maybe next time (: But the materials i bought certainly emptied (almost) my savings ): ![]() Putting the mix into the cups
So afterwhich, i rushed off to RP at 6.20pm >< Walked quite a distance to the school after alighting at the bus stop. But people kept calling me so i quickened my pace in hope to see those people <3 Sunny was very late but he beat me to it because he took a taxi D: Anyway, was really glad to see the dimwits, even though there were only a few of us. Maira, Sunny, Mariame, Pamela, Melissa. But there were more people i saw after a while. That includes Felicia, Tricia (YAY, WE'RE FREE FROM EXAMS RDY!), Bikui, Shiyi (we haven't met for so long!), Sandra, Fakhirawr darling, Suraden, Yasin, Zainul (omg my junior remembers me. Hahahaha!) and of course, some 4EA'07 people (: Passion Arts was better than expected this year (heh..). I loved the opening, i think everyone did actually. It was a break from the old tradition of introducing the first item by doing a short act on the house rules. *applauds. So the first, of course... were the Boys' Brigade. I was stuck on my seat the whole time (we were sitting in the second row so we were a bit afraid that our ear drums would hurt) but that's only because the music they played this time is much more soothing. Enjoyed their performance. Next was quite a surprise to all of us, Ms Chen who was a dancer before. Everyone were amazed by her XD Then it was choir. The SEP students sang first - they looked so small... After them, the choir came out to sing. Not bad (: Chinese contemporary dance came next. I thought their costumes looked so pretty.. ![]() And then a new teacher performed the Clarinet onstage and it was a very nice rendition! It reminded me of Benji - i remember him and his Band suit with his clarinet (or was it the flute?) XD As if the timing wasn't perfect, the band performed next. I have to say, the change of conductors caused a drastic change to their song choices as well. The previous conductor used to choose songs that were more on the fun side and they really made the audience clap to their beats. The new conductor seems to be fond of music of a more serious tone. Hmm.. Anyway, a 15 minutes intermission then. Went to talk to Mr Low a bit. He remembers me as the girl who's bad at math. I wasn't lor! Only A math but i made it from an F9 to B3 for O levels okayyyy D: But he was probably joking la, i don't know (: Then Pamela asked me to take a picture with my secondary 1 Mandarin teacher... Haha. She still remmebers me :D ![]() When we went back to our seats, the Chinese Orchestra performed :D Same conductor :D You know... everytime i reminisced about the times i was part of the Chinese Orchestra, i still wonder what made me quit. Probably the pressure (: But i did have a good time there mostly (: ![]()
Mr Brian sang next. Hey There Delilah by Plain White T's and I'm Yours by Jason Mraz (of which everyone sang along). Malay dance next, i'm always awed at their perfect performances. Then came wushu - i miss the old Wong Fei Hong song... XD Then the indian dance, very vibrant and colourful~ And the song was quite interesting, heh. And the last act was by 2 students who strummed their guitars and sang to Guardian Angel by the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. Not bad! I thought Denzel (i think that's his name) can really sing well! No ending ceremony this year D: Made the ending pretty awkward, actually. Probably the best hosts of the night, ![]() Ms Radziah, Mr Faizal & Ms Uma All the teachers dressed up and looked fabulous la! XD ![]() Part of 4EA with Ms Uma (Physics)
More pictures from Mariame later. She's flying now... ON A PLANE LA. Hahaha, take pretty pictures there okay (: *hug Miss you! Anyway, i went home with Maira and we managed to do some catch up. Sigh, i miss her so much... Gave her two hugs yesterday XD And i promise i'll turn up for your school's carnival or something. To see you, my childhood friend and SHAWNIE!!!! :DDDD Mum fetched me because it was close to 1100pm i think. Went to buy supper and then went home. Ate while watching Survivor and then took a bath and slept at 130am. My arms hurt from all the baking yesterday. But i'm going to cook lunch for my brother and myself. HUNGRY! Time for me to relax, and time for my brother to study >< Jiayou! (: PS: I know you can do it! Don't worry~ :D |
