People with the same objectives stick together through thick and thin. Every year, the Children's Charity Association of Singapore hold a carnival-cum-flea-like christmas event for fundraisers to help raise funds for the children in need. Last year, we as B.I.G came together to set up booths to sell handcrafted balloons, henna drawing, manicure and the selling of christmas decorations. We had a lot of fun and experience with customers who come together from different walks of life to help these children. Though we are no longer involved as committee members, 6 of us headed down to Ngee Ann City today to support our juniors! This year, they decided to bake cookies, muffins and make fruit jellies to help the children! Here are a few of the better pictures i took. Brought out my dear 35mm to shoot today. It was a good opportunity to finally bring out my dad's hard-earned money (D60) and my 9-month savings/torturing wait (35mm prime lens!) to shoot. I haven't shoot since Hari Raya. HORRIBLE PHOTOGRAPHER! ![]() ![]() ![]() The kids from The Spastic Childrens' Association of Singapore hand-drew these plates, clocks, frames and mirrors themselves. Such talented people! Bought a mirror for myself; too beautiful to resist! ![]() Liang Yi, our senior from AY08/09 who came down to 'help out' too. Heh! Managed a paparazzi shot! ![]() Spent about $4 (i think) to play floorball and hit some cans down to win Ghangaa a Winnie The Pooh plushie for her birthday! The ITE guys were nice enough to let me accumulate the points.. HAHA! ![]() ![]() ![]() Caroline and Ghangaa <3 ![]() ![]() Seniors! Will be seeing a few of them again tomorrow when we head down to Ghangaa's place to celebrate Deepavali! So excited because it's gonna be with B.I.G again plus, it's my first time celebrating Deepavli with an indian friend even though Viva and Shamz both celebrate it as well. T_T So far, the B.I.G clique has celebrated Hari Raya together (at my place) and now, Deepavali! We're also planning to have a gathering for Christmas and CNY; though i'm pretty sure it's because we enjoy each others' company so much and these festivals are just excuses to meet up ;P We were also very very glad to see our lecturers today! Mrs Tay, Mrs Tong and Mr Thomas Lee also went down to support the juniors! Mad happy to see them all. Mr Thomas Lee also announced to us 6 that for the most recent Campus Care Network (CCN) day, we were the TOP EARNERS! OMGOMGOMG. Major news! We knew we raised close to $500 for the students but we never knew we were top earners till today! Amazing stuff! To top it all off, 6 of us planned everything with some help by the juniors and also the fact that the juniors did an amazing job pushing sales that day. Gosh, we felt so proud of ourselves, i felt like screaming YESSAAAAA! I am still in disbelief but goodness me... <333 I am really proud of the 6 of us. I'm going to miss all these when i graduate. In fact, i'm already missing the crew and how we'd work together despite all the shortcomings. The shortfalls actually makes me even prouder that we managed to pull through events with only 6 pairs of hands. We were even saying how we wish there will be B.I.G in the respective Unis that we might/will be going to (insyaAllah). I miss 6 of us can stick together forever to plan events. Impossible but it's alright to dream right? (; One more day to enjoy and soak in the good weather (for tonight..) before another week of work starts! |
